Introduction

Mark The Beat ("we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our concert tracking and review platform.

Information We Collect

We collect information you directly provide to us, including:

  • Account Information: Username, email address, and password when you register
  • Profile Information: Display name, profile picture, bio, and other optional profile details
  • Content: Reviews, ratings, comments, concert attendance records, and other content you post
  • Communications: Messages you send to us or other users through the platform

When you access our service, we automatically collect:

  • Device Information: IP address, browser type, device type, and operating system
  • Usage Data: Pages visited, features used, search queries, and interaction patterns
  • Cookies and Tracking: We use cookies and similar technologies to maintain your session and improve your experience

How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

  • Provide, maintain, and improve our services
  • Create and manage your account
  • Personalize your experience and show relevant content
  • Communicate with you about updates, features, and support
  • Detect, prevent, and address security issues and abuse
  • Comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Service
  • Analyze usage patterns to improve our platform and develop new features

How We Share Your Information

We may share your information in the following circumstances:

  • Public Content: Your reviews, ratings, and profile information are visible to other users
  • Service Providers: We share data with third-party vendors who help us operate our platform (hosting, analytics, email, etc.)
  • Legal Requirements: We may disclose information to comply with legal obligations or respond to lawful requests
  • Business Transfers: In the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets

We do not sell your personal information to third parties.

Gmail Import

We offer an optional Gmail import feature that searches your email history for past concert tickets so we can add those concerts to your attendance records. This feature only runs when you explicitly authorize it, and we have designed it to access the minimum amount of data needed:

  • Limited Access: We only retrieve emails sent from a fixed list of ticketing vendors (such as Ticketmaster, AXS, and similar providers). Emails from any other sender are never fetched or read.
  • No Raw Email Storage: We do not store your raw email content, including subject lines, message bodies, or attachments. We only save the concert details we extract, such as artist names, venue names, event dates, and the ticketing vendor.
  • AI Processing: We use large language models (LLMs) to extract concert details from your ticketing emails. We only use providers configured for zero data retention, and your email content is never stored by these third parties or used to train their models.
  • Temporary Access: When you start an import, Google issues us a short-lived access token that is valid for about one hour. We discard this token when the import finishes or fails, and we do not retain it for future use without your explicit consent.

Mark The Beat's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. You can revoke our access at any time from your Google Account permissions.

Data Security

We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your personal information. However, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is 100% secure. While we strive to protect your data, we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Data Retention

We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide you services. If you delete your account, we will delete or anonymize your personal information, except where we have a legitimate need to retain it (e.g., legal compliance, dispute resolution).
